Working to educate women how to get in touch with the mind, body, and spirit.

Chaquita Miller, Psy.S., Founder of Sanctuary Wellness and Education, LLC., is a certified fitness nutrition specialist, holistic wellness expert and school psychologist, who teaches professional millennial moms how to prioritize wellness in their lives. Using nutrition, fitness, spirituality and mindset practices, she empowers women to improve the health of their mind, physical functioning, and deepen their spiritual practice.

As an undergrad, she studied health science and psychology at Cleveland State University, where she later obtained two masters degrees in psychology. She currently works as an independently licensed school psychologist, helping youth and families navigate through complex and sometimes debilitating mental health issues. Always passionate about health and wellness, she obtained her exercise nutrition certification as a level 1 graduate with Precision Nutrition. It was as a nutritional coach that she found her real passion helping women learn and make changes to live healthier, more nutritionally sound lives. She founded Sanctuary Wellness and Education, LLC., in 2017 as a space where women could get in touch with themselves via body awareness, using education, developing a relationship of mutual understanding, vulnerability and support, and helping women to feel inspired to take action to move forward on their wellness journeys.

Sanctuary Wellness and Education is a holistic wellness company that understands that change of any kind happens through awareness, accountability, and action. We believe that holistic health is the catalyst to lasting change and sustainable living. “Eco-interconnectedness” is the idea that individuals both affect and are affected by our ecology in a synergistic manner. It is through this “eco-interconnectedness” that natural healing of the mind, body, and spirit can occur. Our mission is to educate and empower women to take confident action, providing them with the knowledge to apply natural healing methods to heal and rejuvenate their mind, body, and spirit.

As a child, I suffered from debilitating health issues that greatly impacted my quality of life. I had severe migraine headaches that sometimes caused me to miss school, fun activities and my favorite foods (ah, chocolate) as doctors were unsure of the cause. I was on maintenance medication for allergies and was easily triggered by the changing of the seasons, cats, and other unknown allergens that often left me miserable. I hated the cold as I was slightly anemic and could not stand being in the snow very long without feeling completely frozen. A synopsis of my childhood years told a story of suffering, although not acute in nature, still prevented me from living normally. I later understood where the source of these ailments stemmed and how they were all connected.

As a teenager, I vowed that I would take care of my body and ward of the seemingly inevitable generational diseases that inflicted my family. I knew that I did not want to be a prisoner to medication, constant medical intervention, or a continued lower quality of life. I became obsessed with learning how the body works, how to properly care for it, and how to greatly improve the quality of my life using physical activity, and later, applying sound nutritional practices.

I learned that over time as women, we become so disconnected from our bodies that we fail to realize what our body is communicating to us. I know what it is like to suffer. I also know that healing is in our hands when we are knowledgeable and aware of our current level of functioning. I encourage you to explore with me how to continue to improve the quality of your life using food, becoming one with yourself (again), understanding how the spirit works to keep us informed, how mindset is really the foundation to better health, and how the key to health is in the proper utilization of our bodies.
